DIY fan shares hack to hang wallpaper and fix tricky power outlet issue

Due to the pandemic, most of us have spent more time at home than ever in the past two years, so it’s understandable that some people are fed up with the sight of our own decor.

So it makes perfect sense that more and more people are turning to DIY decorating to spruce up their homes on a budget.

Most of us have turned to painting at one point or another, but if you’ve ever tried making your own wallpaper, you’ll know it’s a whole different kettle of fish.

Luckily, a guy shared his super simple wallpaper hack that is sure to make wallpaper a whole lot easier, reports the Daily Star.

Since pesky outlets can get in the way when trying to hang sheets of wallpaper directly, he found a practical solution.

Taking to TikTok, life hack enthusiast Kevin D (@ myart1979) recommends cutting the paper to look like it was done by a pro.

In the clip, Kevin first places the sheet of wallpaper over the outlet so he knows where to cut. Then the aspiring decorator then gets a blade and cuts a cross in the wallpaper, creating four pieces of paper in the shape of a triangle.

This allows the outlet to pass through. After that, he smooths the wallpaper around the edges and then cuts the triangles. There you go, a perfectly hung piece of wallpaper.
