Chat wallpapers are a great way to personalize the WhatsApp experience. Users can change chat wallpapers in WhatsApp from the Settings menu.
On WhatsApp, users can change their chat wallpaper for individual and group chats. Setting up a chat wallpaper is quite easy. Users can use this feature to distinguish conversations from chat. Since WhatsApp is used by people from multiple demographics and for various purposes, it is a good idea to set different chat wallpapers. For example, a user can set the chat wallpaper as an image of a workplace. On the other hand, chats with friends and family can have a group photo set as the wallpaper.
The instant messaging platform has many features that allow users to personalize their chat experiences. For example, users can configure different notification tones for individual and group messages. The incoming call ringtone can also be set differently from the default. Perhaps the most loved feature, users can change the look of the app by selecting light or dark mode. In light mode, WhatsApp uses its classic color scheme — white and green. However, in dark mode, WhatsApp resorts to shades of black and gray, which are easier on the eyes, especially in poorly lit environments.
To change the wallpaper for a specific WhatsApp chat, go to the conversation and tap the three-dot menu in the top right corner of the screen (Android). From the drop-down menu, Android users should tap on the “Wallpaper” option and on the next screen select from four different categories of wallpapers. WhatsApp generates a preview after users choose the wallpaper from the “Customer Wallpaper” menu. If users are happy with how their chat looks with the wallpaper, they should tap “Set Wallpaper” at the bottom of the screen. For those with an iPhone, tap on the profile picture in the upper left corner of the screen and tap on “Wallpaper and Sound”. On the next screen, users can select the wallpaper, preview it and press “Set” to position the wallpaper in place.
Select from four categories of WhatsApp wallpapers
On Android and iOS, WhatsApp offers users four categories from which they can select the chat wallpaper. On the Customer Wallpaper screen, the first menu that appears is “Bright”, containing brightly colored wallpapers. The second list of wallpapers is titled “dark”, containing images with black or gray as the main color. This option is ideal for users who use dark mode as the system theme on their smartphones. The third option allows users to select solid colors as WhatsApp chat background. Finally, you can upload any image from your smartphone and set it as your chat wallpaper.
If users want to somehow change the wallpaper of all chats, they should open Settings > Chats > Wallpaper, select from the four menus described above or upload an image. This image is reflected as wallpaper in all chats on WhatsApp. Apart from this, users can also change the chat wallpaper using WhatsApp Desktop on Windows or Mac, but in doing so, users will only get solid colors as an option.
